Description
The Lexxi T1660 is an innovative cable fault locator that offers an unrivaled combination of ease-of-use and performance. Use it to analyze any metallic cable with at least two conductors (or one conductor and a screen)—great for CATV, twisted-pair telecom, Ethernet and even low-voltage power cables.
The Lexxi transmits electrical pulses into a cable, then measures how long it takes to receive a portion of that pulse energy back from faults or gaps in the cable. It translates this time measurement into distance, providing you with a highly accurate location of short circuits, open circuits, high-resistance joints, cable joints, changes in cable type, or the far end of the cable you’re testing.
The easy-to-use interface features just six control buttons and simple onscreen instructions for setting your preferences. A large 3.5” color backlit LCD display shows a waveform that lets you assess the type of imperfection found. It also displays transmitted and reflected pulses, distance to fault, VoP, output impedance, display range, gain setting, cursor and battery status.
Range is 20, 50, 100, 200, 400, 800, 1600, 3200, 9400, 10,000 and 20,000 feet (manual range control). Accuracy is 1% of selected range (assumes accurate VoP setting, uniform VoP along length of the cable and accurate cursor positioning. Resolution is approximately 1% of range. Velocity factor (VoP) is adjustable from 1 to 99%. Pulse output is 5V peak to peak, 3 ns to 3 ms width; impedance is selectable at 25, 50, 75 and 100Ω. Voltage protection is 600 VAC Category III, 300 VAC Category IV (w/ mains blocking filter; available as special order). Power down is selectable: 1, 3, 5, 10 or 15 minutes, or disabled. Operates on six AA alkaline or NiMH cells; battery life is 12 hours (continuous use). An IP54-rated housing protects against dust and water spray.
Includes: 100Ω twisted pair alligator clip cables, six AA batteries and soft carrying case. 2-year warranty.
Note: A range of optional plug-in modules are available as special order, including a blocking filter module that allows for safe analysis of live 3-phase mains cables. Contact us for details.
